- Ecotopia by Ernest Callenbach [I was shocked at how the political climate depicted is so similar to what we are experiencing now. Wasn't this book published in 1975? SCARY!]
- Ecotopia Emerging by Ernest Callenbach [The prequel to Ecotopia published four years after Ecotopia. Even more insight into the political imaginings of the writer. This book made me want to track down the author and see what he has been doing for the cause lately.]
- Stiff by Mary Roach [This book is about the curious world of cadavers. Everything from forensics science history, to safety testing, to a couple of patented method of composting your remains.]
- The Population Explosion by Paul Ehrlich. [This book as so impressed some readers that they made the decision right then and there to not have children.]
